SBYC Soliders on the Sound Fishing Trip
Staff Sgt. David J. Murphy, 106th Public Affairs, poses with the only fluke he caught during the fishing trip. The Smithtown Bay Yacht Club hosted the second annual Soldiers on the Sound fishing trip on July 24, 2010 in Smithtown, N.Y. Members of the 106th Rescue Wing, from F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base, were the majority of participants for the event which paired the Airmen with civilians who took them on their boat to fish. The main fish the members sought to catch was the fluke. Out of the 18 boats which were deployed for the event only four regulation size fish were caught. The winning fluke was caught by SSgt. Derek Wallace, 106th Vehicle Maintenance, and it measured 4 lbs 3 ounces. (Official U.S. Air Force photo/TSgt Nathan Dean/released)
