7th Bomb Wing Cyber Airman brings rapid innovation to BTF Mission
7th Bomb Wing
Oct. 29, 2021 | 1:06
Senior Airman Jordan Heck, 7th Bomb Wing client systems technician, brings innovation to Bomber Task Force deployments by working with the local Spark Cell to rapidly develop a lightweight communications solution called Project: Go-Comm. In order to implement Bomber Agile Combat Employment (B-ACE), bomber units are now deploying to austere locations that may not have guaranteed communication infrastructure readily in place to support the mission. Project: Go-Comm enables Striker Airmen to quickly establish communications throughout the planning and execution stages of the deployment. Utilizing the skill set and resources of the 7th Bomb Wing Rapid Capabilities office, this project was able to secure funding and support from wing leadership and went from being just an idea to a working, deployable prototype. Representing Dyess Air Force Base, Project: Go-Comm won at this year's STRIKEWERKS Spark Sprint (S3), an annual Air Force Global Strike Command’s innovation competition.
