SILVERDALE, Wash. (Feb. 5, 2021) -- The Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Olympia (SSN 717) was decommissioned at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Bremerton, Washington, after 36 years of service, Feb. 5. Commissioned Nov. 17, 1984, Olympia was the second U.S. Navy vessel to be named for the city of Olympia, Washington.
