May 6, 2022 | 4:59
On May 6, 2022, an Air and Marine Operations (AMO) Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) crew from the Miami Air and Marine Brach detected three separate Cuban migrant vessels and coordinated interdiction with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).
The second Cuban migrant motorized vessel was detected at approximately 3:15pm local time, traveling northbound with approximately 6 persons on board. The MEA crew coordinated with USCG Sector Key West to establish an intercept for the vessel. A Marathon-based Safe Boat responded. The migrant vessel was interdicted, and 6 adult males were apprehended.
