The 48th Fighter Wing activates the 492nd and 494th Fighter Generation Squadrons, replacing the now inactive 48th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Oct. 21, 2022, at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England. The goal of an FGS is to better synchronize the fighter squadrons and maintenance operations groups.
