In this episode, MAJ Brennan Deveraux, national security researcher in the Strategic Studies Institute, and Josh Arostegui, research director and chair of the China Landpower Studies Center, discuss Deveraux's recent article, "Arming Allies and Partners: How Foreign Military Sales Can Change the China Problem," in which he proposes that regional partners will support the US military differently in a potential conflict. Consequently, Deveraux provides a unique framework for understanding the region and argues that these nations must be armed and equipped to enable the varying roles to provide the US military a relative advantage over its rising foe.
