U.S. Army 719th Medical Detachment Veterinary Services, 3d Medical Command, Soldiers prepare a military working dog for a mast cell tumor removal at an undisclosed location in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, April 14, 2024. Mast cell tumors are a cancerous mass that commonly occurs in animals. Veterinary Soldiers take on an 11-week classroom course and countless hours of on-the-job training to provide medical attention as needed to MWDs both in the field and at home station.
