The Choice is Yours: Clean or Green Water (30 sec version)
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Nov. 29, 2012 | 0:30
Public Service Announcement about nutrient pollution in water. Nutrient pollution from farm and lawn fertilizer, pet and livestock waste, runoff from roads and houses, faulty septic systems, and treated sewage, can turn waters green with algae and pollute waters for swimming, boating, and fishing. You can prevent this from happening to your favorite water body by taking care not to over fertilize your lawn; picking up pet waste and properly managing waste from livestock; using green practices such as rain barrels, rain gardens and permeable pavements; maintaining your septic system; and encouraging your community to invest in its wastewater infrastructure. Also available in high definition. 30 second version.
