The first commercial shipping traffic returns to Hilo Harbor, Hawaii, after the Coast Guard Captain of the Port reopened the harbor to commercial traffic, August 25, 2018.
Hilo harbor was closed to all commercial traffic during the impacts of Hurricane Lane and was reopened after the storm had passed and the harbor was deemed safe for vessel traffic.
