Col. Robert Gingras, construction and facilities management officer, Vermont National Guard, talks about the new Vermont Army National Guard Hyde Park Vehicle Maintenance Shop.The new location replaces two facilities and it more energy efficient. The new location is approximately 45,000 sq. ft. and is twice the size of the two previous maintenance locations combined. The location also uses geothermal ground source system, photovoltaic panels, LED lighting, a state of the art energy management system. This led to receiving a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
