Col. Neuzivaldo Dos Anjos Ferreira visit to Camp Blanding

Brazilian Army general staff Col. Dos Anjos toured the Vigilant Guard 2013 exercise at Camp Blanding, Fla. to observe a variety of emergency management and first responder techniques as Brazil prepares for a series of large scale events to include the World Cup and Olympics. The Florida National Guard 44th Civil Support Team commander, Lt. Col. Michael Ladd, guided Col. Anjos through the Vigilant Guard events as Guardsmen and first responders participated in the exercise. Vigilant Guard is major yearly exercise sponsored by U.S. Northern Command focused on Defense Support of Civil Authorities. The National Guard, Department of Defense, local, state, tribal, and federal agencies incorporate multiple training objectives to ensure a seamless organization to support the needs of our governors and nearby regional states during domestic emergencies.
