JROTC National Air Rifle Competition | 2024

From March 21-23, JROTC Cadets from all service branches competed in the JROTC National Air Rifle Competition hosted by the Civilian Marksmanship Program at Camp Perry, Ohio. More than 200 Cadets participated from over 40 schools across the nation. Marksman are spilt into either the Sporter Class, where they wear street clothes and the equipment is more suited for newcomers, or Precision Class, where participants must wear a specialized uniform and use an Olympic-style air rifle. Mariner High School's, Cape Coral, Fla., Army JROTC took home gold in the Sporter Team Championship while Granbury High School's, Texas, Marine Corps JROTC placed first in the Precision Class. Danjela DeJesus, Camden County High School, Ga., and Emma Doyle, Calvert High School, Prince Frederick, Md., from Navy JROTC programs placed first for individual scores in precision and sporter respectively.
