106th Rescue Wing and 109th Airlift Wing Work Together for Vaccine Delivery

New York Air National Guard’s 106th Rescue Wing Staff Sgt. Brian M. Cotter, a 102nd Rescue Squadron Loadmaster, and Tech. Sgt. John R. Andrejack, a 106th Medical Group bioenvironmental engineer, kneel next to a shipment of Covid-19 vaccines packaged for shipment from the 109th Airlift Wing, Scotia, NY, to the 106th, Westhampton Beach, NY, September 9, 2021. The 106th were out of vaccines prior to their regularly scheduled drill, however they were able to borrow 300 doses from the 109th. Using a 102nd Rescue Squadron previously scheduled training assignment, the Airmen were able to safely transport the vaccines to the base onboard their HC-130J Combat King II aircraft.
