National Medal of Honor Day Ceremony

Former Marines attend the National Medal of Honor Day Ceremony at Pinelawn Memorial Cemetary. Members of the 106th Rescue Wing Color Guard appeared at Long Island National Cemetary in Farmingdale, N.Y. on March 25, 2010 for the National Medal of Honor Day Ceremony. The event honored members of the military who were awarded the Medal of Honor for their service and focused more specifically on Medal of Honor recipients from the State of New York. The event was organized by Moe Fletcher and included guest speakers Jim McDonough, Chief Master Sgt. Dennis Richardson, USAF (ret), Air Force Cross Recipient, and Dan and Maureen Murphy, the Gold Star Parents of Lt. Michael Murphy, a Medal of Honor recipient. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Staff Sgt.
