106th Rescue Wing 100th Anniversary Celebration at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, N.Y.
Cradle of Aviation Museum, Garden City, N.Y. -- On May 15, 2008 Staff Sgt. Erica Smith, Avaition Research Management NCOIC, Airman Fist Class Kristen Smith, H-60 Crew Chief, and their mother Maryann Smith-Stahl, widow of Rick Smith, were all present to help cut the ribbon on the 106th's new permanent exhibit in the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Airmen from the 106th Rescue Wing, members of the "Friends of the 106th," and other civilians attended the 100th anniversary of the106th at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, N.Y. The event included the unveiling of a new permanent exhibit focused solely on the Wing, and speakers Wing Commander Col. Michael F.
