Gunner James Jurgensen, 23 mos., was dropped off with a friend before Peter and Kristin left for the hospital.

Tech Sgt. Jergensun was trying to get his wife to the Southhampton Hospital so that she could give birth there, but the baby wouldn't wait, and he had to deliver his own son in the front seat of their brand new Ford Equinox at a Shell gas station located at the intersection of Interstate 24 and Montauk Highway.

Tech Sgt. Jurgensen works as a Air National Guardsman with the 106th Logistics Readiness Squadron of the 106th Rescue Wing, at F.S. Gabreski Airport (ANG) during his drill weekends and as a police officer at the 7th Prescient of the Suffolk County Police Department during the rest of the month.
