Andrew J. Wineberger is the Vice Commander, 106th Rescue Wing, F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base, Westhampton Beach, N.Y. The 106th Rescue Wing consists of four groups with over 1,100 military and civilian personnel. The Wing operates HC-130J Combat King II aircraft and HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters along with a Guardian Angel Squadron comprised of Combat Rescue Officers, Pararescuemen, and SERE Specialists. Michael Hewson is the Command Chief of the 106th Rescue Wing, Francis S. Gabreski Airport, and Westhampton Beach, N.Y. As the senior ranking enlisted member of the wing, he is the principal advisor to the wing commander on matters concerning the welfare, health, morale and the progress and effective utilization of all enlisted members assigned to the 106th Rescue Wing. He serves as the representative for the commander and the enlisted force on various committees, councils and boards and represents the enlisted force at military and civilian functions.
