All were present for the awarding of the Slovenian Medal for Merit in the military field by the May 21, 2017. The ceremony took place at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Slovenia office to the United Nations, New York. The medals given to the 102nd and 103rd rescue squadrons of the 106th Rescue Wing for thier international rescue mission to render aid to crew members injured in an explosion on board the motor vessel Tamar that began on April 24th.
